COFFEE MUSIC PROJECT
FINALS
229 The Venue
Great Portland Street
18th April 2018
April 16th - 22nd is UK Coffee Week, and for the 4th year it's flagship event, The Coffee Music Project, is taking place.
The competition, as with all good talent shows, has already seen 250 emerging artists whittled down to just 10 finalists who will all be competing to win the main prize of a day in a recording studio to record a single, a trip to New York to perform at The Coffee Music Project New York 2018 and The New York Coffee Festival 2018, and the chance to perform at The London Coffee Festival 2019 – the largest coffee festival in Europe.
Those vying for the title this year are: Bobbie Harvey, Brunette, Daisy Chute, Fugitive Orchestra, Georgia Meek, Hollie Rogers, James Riley, Kingsgate, Mairead Furlong and Selin.
The Coffee Music
Project is an international music artist competition, aimed at showcasing
musical talent whilst raising valuable funds for Project Waterfall, the charity
behind UK Coffee Week. Previous winners have gone on to receive further
industry acclaim – the likes of 2016 winner Jamie Grey, who was a finalist for The
Voice, and 2017 champion Ruby Confue (Pictured) who continues to make waves with appearances at
festivals across the UK (as well as performing at the final) and has a bright future ahead.
Project Waterfall is
a charity that works to deliver clean drinking water and sanitation to coffee
growing communities across the globe. Since starting, the charity has raised
over £800,000, changing over 27,000 lives in coffee growing communities.
Jeffrey Young,
Founder of UK Coffee Week, commented: “The Coffee Music Project is a great way
for the two worlds of music and coffee to come together in celebration of UK
Coffee Week. The standard every year is superb and every year we struggle to
choose just one winner – having seen glimpses of the ten finalists I know we’re
in for another tough decision. But whoever wins, the night is about good
coffee, good music and raising money for a good cause, so we look forward to
welcoming fans through the door to help us along that journey.”
