#WhoIsDoraMartin was the hashtag doing the rounds on twitter a few weeks ago, but now we know.
DORA MARTIN is a new duo made up of two talented individuals, CHERRI VONCELLE & JERMAINE RILEY, both of whom have already made their name and earned respect on the music scene as solo artists.
JERMAINE was once 1/3 of UK R&B group FDM and has released several well received mixtapes as a solo artist, CHERRI was also once a member of girl group Trinity Stone (together with the then unknown Sugababe, JADE EWAN) and has released several of her own EPs & singles and until recently provided regular backing vocals for friend JESSIE J.
The pair have worked together in the past but this new project is something completely new, that they describe as their own brand of 'Alternative R&B'. They announced their arrival with this viral video in which the pair perform a quirky but soulful rendition of the British 'National Anthem', together with some cool visuals of their hometown, London
Next up was an unexpected, reworked & renamed cover of JAY-Z's recent 'Magna Carta... Holy Grail' album track 'Somewhere In America', which also was available as a free download
And now we get a taste of what's to come with the first original track from DORA MARTIN.
