New Music: KRISTYNA MYLES - The Paris Match (Video)

It's often said that a classic song never gets old, that is certainly true of THE STYLE COUNCIL's 'The Paris Match

Originally issued as a double A sided single (back in the day when records had two sides) with another of their best known hits, 'Long Hot Summer' and featuring the vocals of the band's frontman PAUL WELLER

The group later went on to re-record the track in jazzier version that utilized the dusky tones of EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL singer TRACEY THORN.

The song was then recorded by the then Mrs. Weller and Council member DEE C LEE and served as the b-side of her hit 'See The Day'

Fast forward 30 years and in a chance meeting with the band's original drummer STEVE WHITE, Manchester based singer/songwriter KRISTYNA MYLES was asked to sing with him on tour. This later resulted in her being asked to provide vocals on the track for the live shows. The song was received so well that she was asked to record her own version. Co produced by Steve and Mercury Prize nominated Manchester producer Andy Ross, new version had it's writer, the Modfather himself describing it as "absolutely stunning"

The single is released on September 9th and can be pre-ordered on itunes or Amazon. A percentage of the single sales will go to the charity Centrepoint for whom Kristyna is an ambassador. Watch the new full length video, of course filmed in Paris, here.

The Single is Launched with two special gigs in Leicester (4th September) at the Musician and Manchester (9th September) at Takk. There will be more chances to see KRISTYNA across the country over the next few months, check her website for more details
